On Teaching the Piano
Teaching piano is a lifelong journey — for both student and teacher. Beyond technique and musicianship, I believe the piano teaches us who we are. Discipline, persistence, and patience are not just practice habits. They are life skills that shape character long after the lesson ends.
I begin every student at the foundation — natural posture, physical awareness, and muscle coordination — because technique built on the body's own intelligence lasts a lifetime. Interpretation follows naturally from there.
My deepest hope for every student is simple: to become a sensitive listener, a skilled musician, and a person of honorable character.
